UPDATES & NEWS

Follow along on my author journey! I will post news and updates here for readers and fans!

March 11th, 2026

It has been far too long since my last update and I sincerely apologize for the limbo I’ve left my readers in these many long months since I published Binding Ink in December of 2024. These last several months have been some of the most taxing and draining I’ve experienced in a long time. Being a working mother of three leaves little time to focus on my creative pursuits, and in that loss of time, I lost my spark. While that is no excuse, I am prioritizing my mental health and slowly reemerging into my creative space to hopefully begin enjoying writing and making art again.

As far as release updates, I do have some good news. In 2026, I am set to release a dark romance that I set up with the ending of Binding Ink as a spinoff to follow a character who was a part of Eris and Gideon’s story. The novel is roughly 70% complete, as I worked on it frequently throughout 2025.

The second half of last year, I had a dream that inspired a sci-fi/fantasy novel that I have dedicated most of my energy to, though it forced me to neglect the dark romance. The project is nearing 90% completion on the first draft, and I am editing and feeding the work to my dedicated beta readers as I progress. With any luck, I’ll be able to release the story by this summer.

For those of you who have been waiting for updates regarding The Dark Divinity Series, I am pleased to inform you that the bones for book 3 are assembled into a working body. However, I have made the decision to postpone the release of this installment until I have revamped the first two books and the prequel. I have grown so much as a writer that it only feels right to give this story the love it deserves, and with that comes a fresh polish. The story will remain the same, but heavier editing and tonal changes are desperately needed to do it justice.

As always, side projects come and go, but my main focus will remain on the three big hitters listed above, perhaps with some small surprises in between.

You have all of my love, and thank you for being patient with me as I navigate trying times in my life. I will always return to the worlds I have created, and these stories will see satisfying ends.

xoxo

I’m excited to experience my second book signing on May 21st! My last one was in December of 2023. (I’m not very good at scheduling events, either, apparently…)

Social media has never been my thing, and I find it difficult to maintain updates, teasers, and going through the motions of marketing. I recently (in my doom scrolling) happened across a post in a book group on Facebook and found myself deep in the comment section, reading through everyone’s thoughts about series updates from authors. I know I don’t have a substantial fanbase or following, but something stuck out to me - most authors don’t post much. I realized that the instant gratification of social media has consequences, the biggest of which for me, personally, is feeling the overbearing pressure to constantly engage. If I’m not consistently looking to push new content, raking in comments to reply to, obsessively monitoring my traffic and views, then I tell myself that I am failing; falling behind in the race of this over-saturated market.

It made me feel almost relieved to realize that it’s okay to be quiet for awhile, that it isn’t the end of all things if I don’t post daily or even weekly. Independent publishing is a gamble, but I can move at my own pace, because while I hope to engage readers and earn their admiration through my work, I forgot that I started this journey for myself. I write the stories that I want to read, I love the worlds I’ve built and the characters I’ve created. Parts of my body, mind, and soul have been healed through writing; processing trauma by working through it with my characters, by experiencing hardships anew through their fresh eyes and experiences. I’m grateful to do this.

If you’re here, I thank you, because if you allow it, these stories are just as much for you as they are for me. Taking this journey together would be my greatest honor.

I’m steadily working on my next project while simultaneously preparing several others - in fact, I had a dream a few nights ago that has inspired something entirely new, and I’m excited to explore it further. For those of you awaiting the next TDDS installment, rest assured that, despite my wandering between various worlds and timelines, Celessa is still ever-present in my thoughts. She’s been knocking on the proverbial door, eager to re-emerge after a long rest and handing her spotlight over for Aklys’ origin story to be told.

In exchange for your patience, I will work on some teasers as offerings with artwork. My style has been evolving and I’m constantly striving to improve to provide my readers with immersing visuals. You can check my various social media accounts for new images.

I hope to post again soon, if the hustle and bustle of life allows it.

Until next time. xoxo

Enjoy this cover teaser for my upcoming project… Can you guess the title?

April 22nd, 2025

In 2022, when I published my first novel, I already knew that I didn’t want to be a fantasy exclusive author - and then I wrote three books for a fantasy series right in a row. I blindsided my fanbase when I took a break from fantasy to pursue another genre of interest, dark romance… so, now that I’ve finished that project, what’s next?

If you’ve been following my social media, you know that I am still passionate about The Dark Divinity Series, but considering how heavy it is, I needed to put it down for awhile. I have every intention of working on the next installment later this year, with publishing set for mid-late 2026. I know a year and a half long gap between releases in a series might seem like a long time, but it is important to me that I am at the top of my game while I write this novel.

In the meantime, I am excited to announce that I have two projects lined up for publishing this year! The first is another dark romance, and I’m incredibly excited to share this story with you. The second will be a pleasant palate cleanser from my usual gritty story-telling. I’ve always been a comedy enthusiast, and my upcoming novella will reflect that, as well as my love for the person who inspired me to write it.

I’m looking forward to the next leg of this journey as I grow as an author, and if you’re along for the ride, I’m so incredibly thankful for you!

All my love and thanks,

Jordyn xx
